Standard reminder process before the appointment

TurnUp World ensures a smooth appointment flow by automatically sending reminders. Below you can see how and when these notifications are sent.

This feature is available for practices that have the No-Show module activated in their TurnUp account.

📊 How TurnUp classifies appointments

TurnUp makes a distinction between high-risk and low-risk appointments:

  • High-risk appointment = More than 50% chance of a no-show
  • Low-risk appointment = 50% or less chance of a no-show

This risk assessment is based on the patient's appointment history and more than 20 additional real-time data points. Read more about what a potential no-show means in TurnUp.

⚠️ High-risk appointments → Confirmation Flow

  1. First reminder – 8 days before the appointment

    • Channels: Email & App*

    • Content: Confirmation request + appointment information.

  2. Second reminder – 6 days before the appointment

    • Channels: Email & App*

    • Condition: Only if no confirmation was received after the first email.

  3. Third reminder – 4 days before the appointment

    • Channels: Email, SMS & App*

    • Condition: Only if the appointment is still unconfirmed.

  4. Fourth reminder- 24 hours before the appointment
    • Channels: Email & App*

    • Condition: Only if the appointment is still unconfirmed.

🟢 Low-risk appointments → Reminder Flow

  1. First reminder – 8 days before the appointment

    • Channels: Email & App*

    • Content: Appointment information.

  2. Second reminder – 24 hours before the appointment

    • Channels: Email & App*

    • Condition: Appointment information.

*If the patient uses the TurnUp app, they will also receive the above notifications directly in the app. This increases both visibility and engagement.
