Creating or Cancelling a Last-Minute Slot

TurnUp World helps you efficiently manage unexpected availability by creating last-minute appointments for eligible patients. This allows you to quickly fill newly available slots in your agenda.

Step 1: Log in to TurnUp World

  1. Go to TurnUp World and log in using your personal account credentials.

  2. Open the menu and navigate to the Last-Minute module.

Step 2: Create a last-minute appointment

  1. Click the Create Last-Minute button.

  2. Select the practitioner’s agenda for which a time slot has become available.

  3. Select the date, start time, and end time of the slot.

  4. Choose whether the last-minute appointment should be created for a specific treatment type.

  5. You will now see a list of eligible patients.
    You can optionally apply extra filters:

    • Duration equal to or shorter than the available slot
      (choose whether only exact matches or also shorter appointments are eligible)

    • Language

    • Existing patients and/or new patients

    Keep in mind that the more filters you apply (treatment type, duration, language, existing/new patients), the smaller the list of eligible patients becomes. Additional filters work best when your waitlist is large and diverse.

Step 3: Create the last-minute appointment

  1. Click Create Last-Minute.

What happens next?

  • Eligible patients are notified of the last-minute appointment via email, SMS or the TurnUp app (if installed).  Patients can book the appointment in just a few clicks. Booking works on a first come, first served basis: the first patient who accepts gets the appointment.
  • Your practice receives an email confirming that the last-minute has been created.
    This does not mean the appointment has already been booked.
  • Once the appointment is booked, both the patient and the practice receive a confirmation with all appointment details.
